I first met Janet at an open house. My husband and I were new to the Charlotte area and fairly new to the house buying process. She immediately was welcoming and easy to talk to. Her knowledge about the Charlotte area was invaluable to me as I was not familiar with the area. She was not pushy or forceful but simply offered her services to me when she found out I did not yet have a realtor. After a day or two, she followed up with me to check to see if I still needed any help. I was beginning to get frustrated looking on my own as the houses in Charlotte were selling before I could even see them so I took her up on her offer. We set a time to meet and we sat down to discuss what location, type of house, price range etc. She was very informative in explaining the Charlotte areas to me. She printed off several options and we went together to look at a few that day. She also gave me several to “drive by” to get a feel for the neighborhoods. Janet was constantly available throughout this process through email, text and phone. During the next few months, Janet showed me about 60 plus homes not counting the “drive bys” and the online virtual tours. When we finally found a great house, she was prepared to help us make an offer. She had our best interest in mind but also helped us keep a realistic point of view. When we decided to withdraw our offer, she helped us through that as well. While on vacation out of the country, she was available through email and worked it out with a friend to show me some homes. We got ready to put in another offer on a different house but then backed out deciding it was too high of a price jump for us. Janet was very understanding during this entire frustrating process. She helped us find a third house in which we started the whole process again and even got as far as the inspection. Janet was marvelous to work during this due to her first hand experience of renovating several of her own homes. She helped us go through the inspection report and realize what were “major” versus “minor” issues. At the end of three months, we were still indecisive and we were concerned about the issues from the inspection report. She helped us through our concerns - getting us quotes to fix the issues if we wanted to proceed or offered to start back at square one. Janet stuck with us through the end even when we decided to go back to “house number one”. Through each of the negotiations, Janet was professional and had our best interests in mind.
